The article was being sent around at the Teamsters Union over the last couple days, and this evening it was suggested we share the article with everyone at Fedxmx.com. Its about time that this country take this serious

I don't know about you but I sure as hell do not want my family flying on american airlines (all airlines that are american) that send their maintenance overseas so they can cheat the system and have 100 non licenced workers doing extensive work only to be signed of by the one or two amt's that have licence's.
I have seen what MAE or aerospace company down in Lake charles can do with an aircraft. We pay them the full price for the work and yet we get back our jets because we need the lift only to have to down them because nothing works.
Their will be many exciteing times ahead and outsourcing is one of the biggest issues that is on the front burner. We just found out that the new hanger we build in China threw a big ole monkey wrench in fedex's gears. They must hire union workers or all bets are off. I love how fedex dropped the ball on that one. I know most of you know we have union mechanics at Fedex in europe. I sure would love to see their contract.
The unions are coming and fedex knows it and how are they handleing it? classic anti union 101- try to treat your employees like you love them and care what they think about it. I have seen this happening already and they moved one of our managers from avionics line and put him on the line because of past problems he has created for some of the amt's and military personal. Fedex lost the case this one brave soul who went up against them and yet they still stood arrogant. I guess this was a way to appease the workers yet the word out is the line was low on managers and they just replaced him for the better of the company.Do not fall for the nice guy crap. Please fill out a incident report for the simplest things. Fred has already told congress he knows nothing of this kind of behavior and would not stand for it. Thats bull because he is so far removed he wouldn't know how bad we are getting it.
In my shop alone they posted one of the best shift bid I have ever seen and in the 16 years I have been in the same shop I finally got weekends off. I do not expect this to last since the manager who got taken out was the one that did it. Please hold the faith and our time will come. Tom Perusi aka tducksoup1
Wow!
Just read the article , can't believe it! I see first hand how our own aircraft come in here at LAX after having vendor maint. done and compare it to ours and there is no doubt, we do far better work on our 'C' checks and the airplanes go out on time. What a shame.
being nice.
Tom, I know about managers being nice. About a month ago here at LAX I was involved in an incident where a horizontal leading edge was being removed and it fell off and landed on me and a screw gun and punched a hole in it. I was hurt but did not go to the hospital. After filling out the statements everyone said letters were coming. But so far nothing yet. Rumors have it they know the union is coming so lets just be nice and forget about. So we will see what happens.
