There was an incredible article that appeared in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution last week titled, "Outsourcing by Airline Could Tighten." The article was being sent around at the Teamsters Union over the last couple days, and this evening it was suggested we share the article with everyone at Fedxmx.com.

FedEx announced this week that it will delay the opening of its Asia-Pacific Hub in China.  According to the article (in the body of the story), the company did not give any reason for this delay; however, it is perfect reason for us to secure our jobs with a union contract. Check out the story, comment if you'd like -- just remember to be signed in with your username and password to do so.

FedEx got a lot of news coverage the other day when the company announced it plans to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from its FedEx Express aircraft fleet by 20 percent. FedEx also plans to improve the fuel efficiency of its vehicle fleet by 20 percent. They hope to accomplish all of this by 2020.

What FedEx Has Taken

Managers’ cups are already full…

FedEx managers regularly speak out of both sides of their mouth. You can hear them say, "All these cuts – the pension cuts, the benefit cuts, the wage cuts, the personnel cuts – are because of how hard things are out there."

Let's Hear From You!

I am tired of being harassed, coerced, intimidated, threatened with insubordination, and stuck in a favoritism atmosphere.

We have been threatened with working mandatory 18 hour overtime on our time off.

We have been threatened with working overtime on a broke company airplane called a "company emergency" by the lowest level manager.

We have been sworn at, yelled at and intimidated to work when we don't have to.

We have some of the worst shifts in the system with clear opportunity for better days off.

Our suggestions go unheard and rejected.

We are not treated with any type of respect at all:  Rude phone calls, poor communication, accusations without investigation, not following/ignoring rules and procedures, forgetting to call back, blowing off meetings.

Becoming a target for bringing up wrong doings.

No accountability from anyone.

Poor planning for manpower on regular shifts and for overtime.

Making up shift base lines to deny vacation.

Holding all work to be done "in house" instead of asking other stations for help.

Not getting the tooling we need or getting the wrong tooling to do the job.

Only listening to suggestions from the highest seniority people and people who do the managers job for him.

Keeping everything a secret even when it clearly is not.

To be answered with "just because I said so" and not a good explanation.

After 10 years service, the last 7 have been hell.

To all the outstations out there, do the right thing and let your voice be heard!
